(The Los Angeles Times、 January 23, 1998 報道)

Hail to Pelosi Visit to Middle East

TO: Nancy Pelosi
House Speaker

Hail to your Mid East visit accompanied by the first Muslim Congressman Ellison, which indicates your determination to bring pressure to Israel to accomodate Palestine statehood.
You must convince Israel that the Mid East peace between Arabs and Israel is a vital interest of US without which US can not maintain good will with Arabs.

Your vist to Syria sets the initiative for diplomatic solution, ie rapprochement with Arabs, which Bush refuses to follow.

Israel should be even threatened with the withdrawal of US support if it refuses to go along with your initiative.

Anti Iraq War Non-Binding Resolution is not enough

Dear Madam Speaker Pelosi,

The non-binding resolution is not enough. The Congress must find a way (cut off funds) to force Bush to withdraw US troops as soon as possible. Early withdrawal is only way to save our troops from harms way. It is a lost war. It is a result of the fundametal mistake of US Middle East Policy which is pro-Israel and anti-Arab/Moslem world. Mao, the inventor of guerrilla war, once said "the fish in the hostile water cannot survive." Please convey this quotation to Bush and use it in your next speech.

Democratic Response to Bush's State of the Union Address

Gov. Howard Dean
Chairman, Democratic Party

Dear Howard,

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/04/opinion/04scowcroft.html?_r=1&n=Top%2fOpinion%2fEditorials%20and%20Op%2dEd%2fOp%2dEd%2fContributors&oref=slogin

As Scowcroft warned in his above article in NYT, there can be no settlement in Iraq and no final peace in Middle East without a solution to Israel-Palestine issue which is the root cause of Anti-American stance of Arab world..

Carter also pointed it out in his latest book "Palestine: Peace, no Apartheid."

How the Democratic Party will be able to swing its pro-Israel foreign policy to pro-Arab under heavy pressure from Israel lobby and its large contribution to both parties is problematic.

Unless the Democratic Party forsakes its Jewish friends, new Democratic government will be incapable of bringing peace in the Middle East.

Make this point clear in the Democratic response to Bush's state of union address tomorrow.

For the same reason, I believe Hillary Clinton who currys favor with jewish votes, depends heavily on jewish money and voted for Iraq War is not a good presidential candidate. She, who now opposes Iraq War after seeing the tide of public opinion has turned against the war, is an opportunist.

If she is chosen, Democrats will lose the election. Democrats should choose a candidate with a principle.

Dear John,

I want your help. My friend, Senator Jim Webb, has the honor of giving the nationally televised response to the president's State of the Union speech tomorrow night. He'll be preparing his remarks tonight and tomorrow, and I want you to make your hopes, your dreams, and your thoughts about the state of our union part of our Democratic message.

Please take a moment to make your input part of the process by sending a note to Senator Webb as he prepares his remarks -- we'll deliver your message:Senator Webb and I look forward to hearing from you -- and so does the rest of the country.

Thank you.

Governor Howard Dean, M.D.

Hilary Clinton opposed as presidential candidate

Tom McMahon
Executive Director
Democratic National Committee

Dear Tom,

Crucial for Democrats is whom they will select for presidential candidate. Hilary Clinton candidacy is problematic because she voted for the Iraq War, she is pro-Israel and controvertial and finally a woman. Democrats could lose presidential election if she is chosen as a candidate.

Pres. Bush arrives in Pyong Yang, North Korea and receives flowers

President and Mrs. Bush arrive in Pyong Yang, North Korea and receive welcome and flowers.

Is it possible? Not impossible if you see this picture of him being welcome in Hanoi from the former arch enemy of Vietnam War.

I hope it will happen in Korea too and diplomatic normalization with N.Korea will bring peace to Korean peninsula.

The Cause of Anti-American Feelings in Korea

Why anti-American feelings in Korea? It can be easily understood if one traces the history of Korean division. Basically, it is manifestation of the sorrow of Korean people over the division of their motherland and they believe that U.S. is mainly responsible for their misfortune.

It all started when U.S. and Soviet Union agreed to the division and occupation of Korean peninsula at the Yalta Conference toward the end of WW II. The reason for the divided occupation was because no one wanted emergence of anti-Soviet or anti-American regime in the peninsula in the aftermath of the war. It was their intention to continue occupation until establishment of a neutral government was guaranteed. It was apparent in such a situation that Korean people should have agreed to neutral Korean peninsular like post-war Austria.

Unfortunately, U.S. and Soviets soon entered the cold war era and each established its own puppet regime in north and south. Resulting division is still continuing to this date. Patriotic nationalist leaders like Kim Koo, who pleaded a unified neutral government, was assassinated by traitors in the South who had sold their motherland to foreign occupiers.

Soviet troops have long gone but U.S. military is still occupying the South and turned South Korea into their permanent military bases. U.S. has ruled the semi-colonial country for more than half a century by supporting pro-U.S. dictators who suppressed aspiration of Korean people for democracy and unification of their country.

Korean unification is not on U.S. agenda. Only U.S. objective is perpetuation of the division and occupation. For any Koreans who aspire for reunification, it is obvious to them that U.S. is their enemy. U.S. is obstructing unification rather than helping rapproachment of North and South.

It is high time for U.S. to understand this logic and national feelings of Korean people and start thinking about Korean unification, either through military force or peaceful means. Of course, peaceful means will be preferable to war if it can be realized.

If U.S. has no will or means to achieve unification, they are advised to withdraw and leave Korea to Koreans themselves. Whether they will achieve unification by war or by peaceful means is their own business. If Koreans are so stupid as to resort to war to resolve their difference, so be it. History has shown that only way to solve any difference in the civil war is a war, as in U.S. Civil War, Spanish Civil War and more recently the Vietnam War.

Beware of Japan's Revival of Militarism

Beware of Japan's Revival of Militarism - A Warning to US

Japanese ultra nationalists are gaining strength with the backing of US who is now using Japan as a bulwark against the rising power of China.

Nationalists are aiming at dismantling Peace Constitution which prohibits rearmament and projecting Japan's military power outward again. It is yet to be seen who is using whom.

I warn US that you will be bitten by your "faithful dog" again someday.

Don't forget the fact that these same nationalists feel most bitterly against the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, harbor deep hatred against US and swear vengeance someday. Koizumi's visits to Yasukuni War Memorial Shrine which commemorates Japanese soldiers who died in the war against US attest Japanese psyche.

History proves Japan cannot be trusted as a reliable ally. Until Russo-Japanese War, Japan held Anglo-Japanese alliance and pursued pro American foreign policy. However, once she became strong and ran a collision course with US, Japan stabbed the back of US with Pearl Harbor attack. History may repeat itself.

US WITHDRAWAL FROM KOREA

US WITHDRAWAL FROM KOREA UNDER NEW MILITARY DOCTRINE

US is now trying to get out of Korea so that they don't become bogged down with the ground war if a war breaks out again after US bombs North Korean nuclear facilities. Koreans are now left on their own to defend themselves.

This new US military strategy, called flexible response, is a very interesting new development and South Koreans, who are taken by surprise, are arguing whether it is worth to maintain alliance with US.

One thing is certain. US will never repeat the mistake of the Korean War which ended in truce after sacrificing 40,000 US soldiers killed and leaving Korean peninsular still divided. MacArthur's decision to intervene in the Korean conflict was a great strategic blunder based on misjudgment of North Korean military capabilities and possible Chinese intervention.

Now, Korean peninsular with nuclear armed North Korea in north is quickly becoming an undesirable burden to US who now lacks viable option to deal with North Korea except a war and such an option, which means complete destruction of their country, is unacceptable to South Koreans.

So-called flexible response by US may be a euphemism for honorable retreat from North East Asia which has come under the sphere of Chinese influence and recognition that era of US domination in the area is now over. Does this mean that US is retreating to the old Atcheson line?

(Note: The Atcheson line is a US defense line drawn by Secretary of State Dean Atcheson before the Korean War and running across the Korean Straight between Korean peninsula and Japan. This defense doctrine was arbitrarily breached by Gen. MacArthur.)

KAL FLIGHT 007 WAS A SPY PLANE

Many believe Flt 007 was used by US in their electronic intelligence operation and their assertions are quite convincing.

Most strong evidence they present is the voice record of a Soviet pilot reporting "The target was destroyed" which was played by US before UN Security Council to accuse Soviet of inhumane act.

It also means that US was able to eavesdrop on Soviet communications throughout 2 hour flight over Soviet air space by 007 which provided enough time to warn 007 but they did not. It is US, they argue, who used a civilian airliner for a dangerous military mission and committed a crime against humanity by sacrificing hundreds of civilian lives.

They argue that US covered up the truth and even engaged in disinformation presenting it as an accidental navigational error. It caused some conscientious scholars and intellectuals to rise up and protest government cover up.

The following are synopsis of their arguments based on literature quoted below.

1. Previously in 1978, there was a similar incident at Murmansk and KAL plane was forced to land inside Soviet territory.

2. 3 redundant INS inertial navigation system are so designed that there can be no human errors.

3. All of several back-up radios and scan radar cannot be disabled by mistake.

4. Between Alaska and Aleutian islands, there are three radio beacons and the plane must report its position when it pass over these positions but 007 failed to report its correct positions.

5. US radars at electronic intelligence base on Aleutian islands were scanning entire area of Kamtchaka Peninsular, the base of Soviet nuclear sub, on 24 hour basis but they failed to warn 007 while it deviated its flight course 300 miles to the north for 2 - 3 hours. These US radars are under control of CIA-NSA.

6. C135 intelligence plane was flying near 007 but it never warned 007.

7. US electronic intelligence gathering stations (also operated by NSA) in Mizawa and Wakkanai bases in Japan were able to watch 007 approaching Sakhalin on their radar screen and also eavesdrop on communications of Soviet planes scrambling to intercept 007, but they never warned 007.

8. It is said that around 1970, Korean Airlines, which was financially strapped, purchased jumbo jet airliners with funds provided by CIA and in return promised cooperation with US intelligence operation.

9. CIA hopefully believed Soviets would not shoot down a civilian airliner and resorted to such a reckless venture.

10. 007 disobeyed instruction by Soviet interceptor to land and tried to escape.

11.Mr. Chun, pilot, bragged to friends that he was a secret agent of CIA and received a lot of money.

12. Mrs. Chun, widow, testified in deposition obtained by Atty. Melvin Berry (sic) that her husband wanted to escape from the dangerous mission.

13. Korean Air Force pilots training in US were often approached by CIA recruiters who temted them with lucrative pay and assured employment with KAL after discharge from the military.

14. On that fateful day, US positioned several electronic surveillance planes and ships near the area.
